LGL101. The Importance of Law and Order - Free

We don’t always like the rules or laws, but if we want to live in a civil society, we must follow rules to maintain peace and order. From speed limits to restaurant guidelines, laws protect our safety and ensure our rights at the local, state, and national level. Laws that originated in the Bill of Rights in the U.S. Constitution guarantee our freedom of religion and speech. There are four rules of law that originated in the Magna Carta that we abide by in the U.S. Among them, every citizen is governed by the same laws, applied through a fair and equal judicial process to resolve disputes peacefully.

LGL102. Legal Issues for Seniors - Free

Common elder law topics to address early are when and how to obtain a power of attorney, seek guardianship, prevent and prosecute elder abuse, plan ahead for estate administration and distribution, and the importance of advance Medicaid planning.
